An Ideal Introduction to Martial Arts
Our Chimpanzees groups of 7-8 year olds welcome both graduates from pre-cursors in our Growing Gorillas program and those who are entirely new to Martial Arts training.
For those who are new and unfamiliar with the environment, we recognise that it is most important for them to be comfortable in the gym so they see it as a fun, happy place, where they can make friends, have fun and grow in confidence as they overcome challenges and obstacles within a controlled environment.
From this foundation, we can then work on building general physical literacy through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with our carefully curated curriculum that stealthily integrates techniques into what appears to be general playtime.
This curriculum uses best practices learned from the 70+ SBG gyms that are located worldwide, each hosting world-class instructors committed to continual learning and improvement.
Now, more than ever before, it is crucial for a child’s development that they develop their physicality through such a curriculum. Many children no longer get the opportunity to learn physical skills that were standard in generations past where it was commonplace to be out climbing trees, playing catch, and chasing one another around.
